The Tin Building at the Seaport

The Tin Building by Jean-Georges is a premier culinary destination that redefines experiential dining in Lower Manhattan.

As Director of Design and Construction for the project under the Howard Hughes Corporation, I oversaw the complete redevelopment of this 56,000 sq. ft. historic building into a dynamic food hall featuring 12 restaurants, five bars, and curated retail experiences—all conceptualized by world-renowned chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten.

My responsibilities included managing complex stakeholder engagement, coordinating architectural and MEP teams, overseeing value engineering and schedule controls, and liaising with city agencies to maintain compliance and expedite approvals.

This high-profile, $200M project blends heritage architecture with modern food culture and exemplifies innovation in urban placemaking.

The Tin Building was constructed during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, and despite unprecedented challenges—from site shutdowns to supply chain delays—it was completed successfully, delivering a landmark culinary destination on time and to exceptional standards.
